CMOC continues to refine its human rights policies and procedures. We enhanced management capabilities and practices across business units and strengthened stakeholder engagement to better meet their expectations.
Following the update of the Human Rights Policy in 2022, in 2023 CMOC published the Responsible Production and Sourcing Policy. This policy enshrines CMOC's commitment to ethical and sustainable business practices in its operations and supply chain, which includes continuously carrying out appropriate due diligence in the mineral supply chain and ensuring responsible production and sourcing of minerals in line with the OECD Guidance.
From 2023 to 2024, CMOC hired international human rights experts to conduct Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) on TFM and KFM. During the HRDD process, the experts assessed and prioritized the human rights risks, impacts, and relevant issues existing at the mine sites, doing so in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). Following the completion of the human rights due diligence, both TFM and KFM further improved their human rights management systems and developed human rights action plans to manage human rights risks to their employees and the communities in which they operate. In 2023, TFM published its Human Rights Due Diligence Report, Human Rights Commitment Statement, and the TFM Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Policy. In 2024, KFM and TFM each published their Human Rights Due Diligence Reports, with "KFM Human Rights Due Diligence Report" and "TFM Human Rights Due Diligence Report", leading to a further enhancement of the human rights management systems at both mining sites.
