Wilson MAKUYA, one of the first scholarship beneficiaries of the TFM Community Social Fund, has ended his brilliant university course with the mention of great distinction.

Enrolled in the Community Social Fund's university scholarship programme since 2017, Wilson MAKUYA pursued his higher education at the Protestant University of Lubumbashi, Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, in Human Resources Management in the LMD system. Like the other scholarship beneficiaries, Wilson benefited from full support of TFM, covering the payment of academic fees, accommodation, transport, medical care, catering, in short, everything needed to enable the scholarship beneficiary to pursue the higher education which used to be far out of reach for them.

Thanks to this support, Wilson MAKUYA's academic record has been more than brilliant. Two distinctions in the bachelor's degree and a great distinction in the master's degree, which crowned his university career with pomp.

Very moved, Wilson thanked the Community Social Fund and his financial sponsor Tenke Fungurume Mining for giving him this opportunity to pursue his higher education: "I would like to acknowledge all the people who managed this scholarship program so that we could get to the top. Thank you to all the people who support and encourage us, and especially to TFM for their financial support all along this journey."

Great distinction! A pride not only for the TFM Community Social Fund and its funder but also for the whole community of Fungurume.

Since 2016, the Community Social Fund's university scholarship program has financed the 89 students, including 21 girls, who study in the university institutions of Haut-Katanga and Lualaba.

The objective is to cultivate a group of local talents, capable of making a valuable contribution to the sustainability of the local community and the country.
