CMOC’s occupational health and safety policies reflect our commitment to "preventing harm to employees and reducing negative impacts on the environment and local communities." We continue to fortify our HSE management through practical action and effort.
Under the leadership of the Group HSE Committee, we perform all supervision and management activities in accordance with the processes and methods stipulated in the HSE management system. We also set annual HSE targets, conduct internal and external HSE management system audits, and carry out targeted special inspections for each operating site while considering seasonal characteristics and unique risks related to special time periods.
We also place special emphasis on occupational health and safety training for all employees, including contractor employees, to prevent safety incidents from occurring at the source. In 2023, we strengthened vertical communication between our headquarters and operating sites and horizontal communication between operating sites. The goals were to build a continuous learning organization by conducting various forms of safety training, such as safety lectures, emergency response drills, and knowledge competitions, and to learn lessons from accidents that have already happened, raising the safety awareness of employees at all levels to avoid the recurrence of unfortunate incidents.
CMOC’s safety performance is measured against industry-recognized benchmarks, such as the Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and the Lost Time Injury Rate (LTIR). In 2023, the Company's TRIR per million hours worked was 0.85, and its LTIR per million hours worked was 0.28.
