H.E. Fifi Masuka Saini, Governor of Lualaba Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), recently led a delegation to the production site of Tenke Fungurume Mining (TFM), a subsidiary of CMOC Group , to learn more about its production operations and corporate social responsibility practices.

Accompanied by the TFM team, the Governor and her delegation visited the company’s copper and cobalt production facilities, with a focus on the 30K concentrator and hydrometallurgical plant. As a key project supporting TFM’s technological upgrading and capacity enhancement, the 30K plant showcases the company’s modern capabilities in mining, mineral processing and metallurgy. Through the site visit and exchanges, the delegation gained a detailed understanding of TFM’s copper and cobalt production processes, as well as the company’s concrete practices in continuously optimizing production processes and improving operational efficiency.

During the visit, TFM representatives highlighted the company’s contribution to the economic and social development of the DRC and Lualaba Province. Since 2006, TFM has invested USD 345 million in community development projects spanning education, healthcare, drinking water and infrastructure, while also creating jobs and supporting local talent development.

“Every new school, every livelihood project and every job created shows how TFM is turning the value generated by its own development into a driving force for community progress,” said Aldry Luzanga.

The Governor and her delegation highly recognized TFM’s corporate social responsibility practices. TFM said it will further deepen communication and cooperation with all stakeholders and contribute more to the future development of Lualaba Province and the DRC.
