CMOC Brasil launched the "Rural Network" project, an initiative designed to transform rural communities in Catalão and Ouvidor through digital inclusion and digital literacy training.
The project is expected to directly benefit approximately 990 residents across 11 communities, while also providing free, unlimited internet access to surrounding areas. The initiative will offer digital skills training courses for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Government officials, rural community representatives, institutional partners, and local leaders attended the launch event.

In recent years, CMOC Brasil has continuously strengthened dialogue and communication with its stakeholders, conducting socio-economic surveys every two years to fully understand the needs of neighbouring communities and design targeted community programmes. In 2025, CMOC Brasil launched the "Rural Health" project (Saúde na Roça), providing medical and dental care and health promotion services to rural communities surrounding its Goiás operations. Using mobile health units that reach multiple locations, the project has brought care to rural families.
The "Rural Network" project also stems from previously conducted socio-economic research: difficulty accessing quality internet emerged as one of the main concerns raised by rural communities in the Catalão and Ouvidor areas. In many locations, limited internet connectivity directly affects even simple everyday activities, such as using public services and government platforms, online learning, staying in touch with family members, and making use of digital tools for work and study.
To address this challenge, CMOC Brasil has brought in SESI (Social Service of Industry) and SENAI (National Industrial Training Service) as partners. The two institutions will be responsible for installing antennas, maintaining equipment, and providing instructional support for digital learning pathways. Under the plan, antennas will be installed in central community locations using satellite internet technology. Internet access will be free, unlimited, and available 24 hours a day. The project will create an interconnected network across rural communities, allowing residents to connect to the internet at multiple signal coverage points throughout the project's service area.

In addition, the "Rural Network" project will offer digital literacy training at Casa Criativa CMOC (the CMOC Creative Hub), with classes scheduled to officially launch in June 2026. Courses will be taught by professional instructors, with SENAI providing instructional support and CMOC Brasil overseeing the programme. The learning pathways will be tailored to different target groups, covering everything from foundational computer skills to the use of digital platforms and services essential for modern life. The training will last approximately six months, and participants will receive certificates upon completion.
"The project will bring people closer together and expand access to information, education and essential services," said Flávia Adorno, ESG Senior Manager at CMOC Brasil. "Digital inclusion in itself is a civil right. The project aims to create positive social impact and offer rural residents new opportunities to learn, develop and participate in the digital world."
By concretely addressing the "pain point" of internet access in rural communities, CMOC Brasil will deepen the trust relationship with local residents and strengthen the "social licence" for its operations. This not only helps improve operational stability, but also lays a stronger foundation of public support and brand reputation for its longterm sustainable development in Brazil.
CMOC Brasil also reiterates its commitment to expanding opportunities, strengthening community ties, and advancing digital inclusion for rural populations, while continuing to explore a development path in which social responsibility drives longterm corporate value-creating a "winwin for society and the company".
