In June 2024, CMOC Brazil officially launched the innovative “Saúde na Roça” (Health in the Countryside) program, providing essential medical and dental services to 14 rural communities in the Catalão and Ouvidor regions of Goiás State. This marks the first time a mining company in Brazil has initiated such a project, representing a bold step forward in CMOC’s commitment to social responsibility.

The program was developed based on community research conducted between 2023 and 2024, which identified key challenges faced by local residents, including limited access to healthcare and a high prevalence of chronic illnesses. Equipped with fully functional mobile medical units, the initiative offers doctor consultations, basic care, clinical examinations, and dental treatments—delivering convenient, continuous, and compassionate healthcare support.

“Saúde na Roça” not only improves community health outcomes but also strengthens collaboration between the company, government, and local residents, enhancing public trust and CMOC’s reputation. The program is supported by CMOC Brazil’s 2025 tax contributions to the region and forms a vital part of the company’s broader social responsibility portfolio.

In addition to this initiative, CMOC Brazil continues to advance its “Good Neighbor” public welfare campaign and has invested approximately BRL 400,000 in renovating public hospital wards at Santa Casa Hospital in Catalão—demonstrating a comprehensive commitment to community healthcare development.

Industry experts have noted that this project sets a new precedent for mining companies engaging in community healthcare, establishing a new benchmark for corporate social responsibility in the sector.
