In October 2024, KFM successfully passed the evaluation of ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System by the NQA certification body from South Africa. On November 5, the company officially received the certifications for these three management systems. This marks KFM’s first international management system certification, showing significant progress in standardized, refined, and international management practices, and is a milestone achievement for the company.

ISO certification is a key annual initiative for KFM. Under the careful planning and coordination of the CMOC management team, all business departments at KFM worked together seamlessly and passed the certification on the first attempt.

Meticulous Organization of System Documentation

During the construction phase of KFM, the company benchmarked and learned from peer companies that had already obtained ISO certifications. High standards and requirements were adopted to establish a set of system documents tailored to KFM’s needs. These documents were continuously improved and finalized to form a four-level management document system, including one management manual, 77 secondary documents, 40 tertiary documents, and 202 quadripartite documents, structured under "Management Standards—Basic Regulations—Management Methods—Management Rules". The system documentation was also extended into three language versions: Chinese, French, and English.

Strengthening Training and Promotion of System Documentation

The company organized external experts to provide multiple rounds of training and guidance for the management team. After the system’s trial run, over 20 professionals from various departments were selected to form the company’s internal audit team. This team conducted a comprehensive and rigorous mock audit, evaluated the system’s effectiveness, identified existing issues, and implemented time-limited corrective actions, thereby actively improving and preparing the necessary documents and materials.

Implementing System Standards and Guidelines

The company applied system management thinking to guide daily operations, embedding system principles and methodologies into the core of its business practices. Using a risk-based approach, it identified and controlled risks in operational activities. The PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle was employed to achieve closed-loop management, continuously improving the company’s management level and enhancing the professionalism and reliability of its products and services.

From September 23 to October 4, the audit team from South Africa’s NQA conducted a thorough on-site review of KFM’s three management systems. Through document review, random case checks, and interviews, the audit team rigorously examined KFM’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System. The audit team unanimously affirmed that KFM's management systems were "suitable, sufficient, and effective" and met the certification standards, granting approval for the certification of the quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management systems.

The successful acquisition of the ISO certifications represent a significant achievement for KFM in establishing high-standard management systems for quality, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety. These certifications lay a solid foundation for the company to further enhance its management performance and international management capabilities.
